How It Works

As a car moves through the air, the air pressure directly in front of the bumper increases with the square of speed. The BIG MOUTH is strategically designed and positioned for maximum air pressure recovery. Basically, it feeds your current intake with higher pressure air. It is the same concept as driving below sea level where the air pressure is higher, except you are able to generate higher inlet pressures with a properly design ram duct such as the BIG MOUTH. Increasing the inlet absolute pressure to your engine has profound effects on performance. Increases in air mass flow, reduction in wastegate duty cycle (for turbo vehicles) and reduced inlet and charge temps are some of the benefits of running a properly designed ram inlet. On top of all that awesome performance comes the BIG MOUTH growl and sinister stare, it sounds and looks great!

Installation

Installation can be done with basic hand tools. We supply all straight forward color instructions (downloadable below), backed with our Customer Support phone number to help guide if any questions arise. All hardware is always included (if necessary) in our BIG MOUTH Ram Air kits. NOTE: Rain or snow do not adversely affect the engine once a BIG MOUTH is installed. When people see that massive inlet flare through the grille, they’ll know it’s Velossa Tech!

The third generation of the Kia Forte entered the market for 2019. The vehicle is more refined now and features some styling cues of the Stinger luxury car. It also comes with performance and technology upgrades and delivers higher efficiency and greater comfort. The 2019 Kia Forte employs a strengthened platform that features 54 percent advanced high-strength steel and additional hot stamped parts. Seat frames are lighter and more durable now. They feature a denser seat foam and deliver enhanced lumbar support, making long-distance travels more pleasurable. Increased body stiffness contributes to improved NVH performance, making the cabin of the new Forte quieter. The suspension geometry was reworked to provide a nimble and fast feel behind the wheel, while brake performance was boosted for a shorter stopping distance and smoother initial response. Thanks to upgrades in the steering system, the 2019 year model has an improved steering feel.

The 2019 Kia Forte utilizes a 2.0 L I4 good for 147 hp that uses a cooled EGR system and Atkinson Cycle technology for better fuel efficiency. It can be teamed with a 6-speed manual and new Intelligent Variable Transmission developed by Kia. The latter offers a number of benefits compared to traditional CVTs. It features adaptive shift logic and chain-type belt (first for a compact vehicle) that ensure smooth and linear acceleration. The transmission case is wrapped in a sound-insulating cover that allows for a 5-dB decrease in NVH levels. Though, the main priority of the IVT is fuel efficiency and it succeeds in this field – working together with the Forte’s engine, it allows the vehicle to return 35 mpg combined, providing a 3-mpg increase compared to the previous model.

Thanks to a fastback body style, the new Forte not only looks more attractive, but also offers more interior space. The overall length of the model was increased by 3.2 inches, so now it offers more legroom and more cargo space. The trunk of the car can carry 15.1 cu. ft., which is one of the highest numbers in the segment. The 2019 Kia Forte features an 8” touchscreen with smartphone compatibility, plus it can be fitted with a wireless charging tray that eliminates the need for excessive wires.
